Fantastically Fun Fridays: July 15, 2011

I haven't had a chance to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) yet--I'm going this weekend--and I haven't read any reviews yet either, so that my viewing of the movie will be as unspoiled as possible, but from the snippets of things that I've seen, the reception looks quite positive so far.  Have you seen it yet?  What do you think?  Let us know in the comments!

We hope that you've enjoyed our coverage of various aspects of the Harry Potter universe this week, and to finish things off, here is a "Harry Potter"-themed edition of Fantastically Fun Fridays...

Happy weekend, everyone!

Teared up at a couple of parts. Some understandable omissions, some good additions, one astoundingly dumb addition, and two awkward things that could have been completely cut, but were instead incompletely cut (i.e. if you hadn't seen the books they'd look like loose ends or loose beginnings). One of those involved Lupin and Tonks, and given that, I disagree with the link that rated them as the best movie couple--there was significantly more to them in the books that could have been done in the movies, but wasn't, and as a result I couldn't really care much about them in the movie.

As a fanfiction person the link with ideas for Minerva and Luna spinoffs are quite inspiring.

Oh, and McGonagall was fantastic.
